Our Curriculum
The teaching staff of Harlestone Primary School, along with the staff of Brington Primary School wrote our curriculum model over a period of time following the introduction of the revised National Curriculum Model in September 2014.
It is the product of much conversation, discussion and debate amongst the staff. Above all however, it is the product of a passion for learning that is shared among all staff at both schools and an absolute desire to ensure all of our children receive learning that is relevant and broad, both in its scope and its ambition.
The curriculum model is designed to guide the work of the teachers and learning support staff, ensuring national objectives are met in a context that is relevant to the children and allows for creativity and flair in delivering learning to shine through.
Our curriculum is regularly reviewed to ensure it meets the children's needs in school and is responsive to new initiatives, Government changes, information technology, staff specialisms and above all to ensure it is fit for purpose in 2024.
